The Nerja Botanical Garden, known as Detunda, is a unique natural space situated on the foothills of the Sierra de Almijara, right in the heart of the Axarquía in Málaga. Set at a certain altitude above sea level, it offers a privileged setting in which to get to know up close the rich flora and vegetation characteristic of this Mediterranean area.
Its great value lies in the variety of species from the malacitano-almijarense biogeographical sector that it houses, among which dolomitic plants abound, many of them endemic and of great interest because of their rarity. The garden is therefore a true living museum of the biodiversity of the mountain ranges surrounding Nerja.
