Carabeillo Beach — A Quiet Cove Between the Cliffs
Tucked beneath the cliffs between Burriana and the town centre, Playa Carabeillo is a small, peaceful cove reached by a long stairway — quieter and more intimate than its famous neighbour.
Carabeillo Beach (Playa Carabeillo) is a small, secluded cove nestled between Burriana Beach and the historic centre of Nerja. Hidden beneath the clifftops and reached by a long flight of steps, it offers a much quieter and more intimate alternative to the bustling Burriana next door.
What to Expect
The beach is relatively small, with coarse sand and clear water. Its sheltered position between the rocky headlands makes it feel private and peaceful. It's a favourite with couples and anyone looking to escape the crowds.
Access
Carabeillo is reached via a long stairway from the Paseo de los Carabineros clifftop path (which links the town centre to Burriana). The steps are steep — not ideal for those with mobility issues.
Good to Know
- No chiringuito or facilities — bring everything you need.
- Limited space; in summer it can fill up despite being less well known.
- The coastal path above the beach offers beautiful views and connects to Calahonda via a scenic walk.
