Walk from Burriana to Maro
Trail description
The walk from Burriana to Maro is one of the most popular and accessible coastal routes in Nerja. This path connects the iconic Burriana Beach with the charming village of Maro along a route that combines a coastal trail with short stretches of quiet secondary road.
The trail begins at the eastern end of Burriana Beach and climbs along a cobbled path with spectacular views of the coastline. Along the way, you'll pass several coves and natural viewpoints that are well worth a stop.
One of the highlights of the route is the Águila Aqueduct, an impressive feat of 19th-century engineering that spans the ravine between Nerja and Maro. Still in use today, this aqueduct is one of the most photogenic landmarks in the area.
Upon arriving in Maro, the village charms visitors with its peaceful streets, the Church of Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas, and several bars where you can rest and refuel. From Maro, you can continue on to the Maro beaches or head back to Nerja.
