What the journey is like
You leave the airport on the A-7 towards Almería, pass Torre del Mar and Algarrobo and take the Nerja exit. From there Frigiliana is only a few kilometres away, but on a winding mountain road, which is why it takes about ten minutes longer than Nerja.
A late flight is no problem: the service runs 24 hours and the driver follows your flight so they are there at your real landing time.
Where the taxi drops you in Frigiliana
The old town has narrow, steep, cobbled streets and many houses can only be reached on foot. Usually the driver leaves you at the closest access to your accommodation and you walk the last stretch.
If you are staying inside the old town, write the name of the place in the comments when you book and keep it handy. With big suitcases it is good to know in advance: wheels and cobblestones do not get along.
Taxi or bus from the airport?
There is no direct bus from the airport to Frigiliana. You first go to Nerja (see the Málaga to Nerja bus, with a change in Málaga) and then take another bus from Nerja up to the village. It usually takes over two hours, with your luggage in tow.
For two or more people the taxi pays off: with four it is about €23 each, door to door. If you would rather explore on your own, see car hire in Nerja, though parking in the old town is another story.
