Three Kings Parade in Nerja

The Three Kings Parade winds through the streets of Nerja every 5 January with floats, music and excitement for the little ones. The Kings arrive at the Balcón de Europa and receive the keys to the city.

Every 5 January, on the eve of Epiphany, the streets of Nerja are filled with colour and magic with the Three Kings Parade. It is one of the most deeply rooted Christmas traditions in the municipality and a special moment for families.

What to expect from the parade

The parade sets off from the Balcón de Europa, where the Three Kings make their official appearance, and проходит the main streets of the centre: Plaza Cavana, Calle Granada, La Ermita, Calle San Miguel and Pintada, before returning to the Balcón. The procession includes decorated floats, musical groups, children's characters and, of course, the handing out of sweets.

The ceremony at the Town Hall

After the parade, the mayor symbolically hands the keys to the city to the three Three Kings in an event held in front of the Town Hall. It is an emotional moment that brings together hundreds of local families and visitors.

Practical tips

It is worth arriving early at the Balcón de Europa to get a good spot. The centre is closed to traffic during the route, so the best option is to go on foot or park in the designated areas on the outskirts. If you are travelling with young children, the pavements on Calle Pintada offer good visibility without too much crowding.
