Cantarriján Beach — Clothing-Optional Cove
A sheltered naturist-friendly beach in the Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park with clear water, a seasonal chiringuito and a relaxed, back-to-nature vibe.
Cantarriján Beach (Playa de Cantarriján) is a sheltered, clothing-optional cove within the Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park, technically in the municipality of Almuñécar (Granada) but just minutes from Nerja. It's one of the best-known naturist beaches on the Andalusian coast, though textile visitors are equally welcome.
The Beach
The cove is framed by high cliffs and subtropical vegetation. The sand is a mix of coarse grains and pebbles, and the water is exceptionally clear — ideal for snorkelling. The atmosphere is relaxed and tolerant; clothing is entirely optional.
Access & Shuttle
From the N-340, take the turn-off signposted Cantarriján. In summer, private vehicles cannot drive all the way down — a free shuttle minibus runs from the car park to the beach. Outside peak months, you can sometimes drive closer or walk the road (about 15 minutes downhill).
Facilities
- A popular chiringuito serves seafood, drinks and cocktails — it has a loyal following.
- Basic shower available.
- No sunbed hire.
- Limited shade — bring your own parasol.
