The Cueva de Nerja is one of Spain’s great natural wonders. Discovered in 1959 by a group of young people, it houses the oldest cave paintings in human history (42,000 years old) and the world’s largest stalagmite column (32 metres).

The visit takes in the galleries open to the public, with explanations about the geological formation, prehistoric history and curiosities of this natural monument. The interior temperature remains constant at 19°C throughout the year.

Admission includes access to the Museo de Nerja and an audio guide in more than 15 languages. There are also guided visit options with transport from Málaga or Granada.
