Playa de las Alberquillas is a large natural beach located within the protected area of the Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo. Surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and away from large developments, it is one of the most suitable places to switch off and enjoy a landscape that is little urbanised.
The shoreline is made up of gravel and pebbles, with waters that usually offer great clarity when the sea is calm. Its rocky areas make it possible to spot fish and other marine species, so it is especially appealing for swimming and snorkelling.
Las Alberquillas is ideal for visitors who prefer to bring their own supplies and spend several hours surrounded by nature. Its minimal alteration, the absence of buildings facing the sea and the views of the cliffs offer a very different experience from Nerja's urban beaches.
